Queen Anne is a neighborhood and hill in Seattle, Washington. Queen Anne Hill is the highest named hill in Seattle, Washington. Queen Anne is situated just north of Seattle Center and just south of Fremont across the Lake Washington Ship Canal. The hill became a popular spot early on for the city's economic and cultural elite to build their mansions (the name derives from the architectural style, typical of so many of the early homes).

"Queen Anne" can refer either to the entire hill or to the central residential and business district at the top of the hill. Typically residents will tell you that they live "On Queen Anne". The area includes Lower Queen Anne, which refers to the neighborhood at the southern base of the hill, just north of Seattle Center.

On Queen Anne, you will find a stylish combination of noteworthy architecture, water and city views, and lively shopping all in close proximity to downtown. Queen Anne has long been seen as a desirable place to live. It's serpentine streets, and steep inclines evoke many comparisons to San Francisco.
